Regular weekday BART schedule on Halloween; no extended hours
Halloween partiers, take note: BART will run regular weekday service hours on Halloween night -- Friday, Oct. 31 -- with no extended hours. Please plan your Halloween travel early and check BART schedules for the last train leaving your station. Printed schedules are available at all stations, or use the BART QuickPlanner to plan your trip online.
A new event this year for those seeking family-friendly Halloween fun in San Francisco is the city-sponsored Halloween Festival. The free festival will be at AT&T Park Parking Lot A, an open space south of Market near the ballpark, starting at 4 pm. Activities from 4 pm to 8 pm are kid-friendly and include a costume contest and face painting. The festival continues until 11:30 pm with more adult-oriented fare such as a drag queen contest and entertainment from local musicians and performers. The event is alcohol-free.
BART will add cars to some trains on Halloween night to accommodate extra passengers going to the festival and other Halloween events; however, the regular schedule is in effect with no extended hours. Also on Friday, from 4:00 to midnight, BART personnel will set up a special table at the 16th Street/Mission Station to sell BART tickets to help ease demand at ticket machines. BART officials suggest riders buy round-trip tickets to avoid lines before the ride home.
