Passenger advisory issued on protest planned for Hayward Station
Dear Passenger:
BART has learned of possible protests around the Hayward BART Station on Friday, February 27, 2009, around 4:30 p.m. Those protests may spill over onto BART property. It is our intention to keep the station open. All indications are that the protests will be peaceful. However, in the event they get out of hand, we may need to close the station to keep you and our employees safe.
In the event the station closes, you do have the option to enter or exit at either Bay Fair or South Hayward stations. AC Transit and BART are working together to get as many buses as possible to provide you with a bus bridge to the Hayward Station. Please look for either AC Transit or BART employees to guide you to these buses.
Additionally, the #77, #91 and #99 AC Transit bus routes regularly run between Hayward and South Hayward BART stations and the #99 and #84 routes regularly run between the Bay Fair and Hayward BART stations. If you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to sign up for our email or text message service alerts. Your safety is our top priority. We apologize in advance if the protests cause any inconvenience to your commute. Again, we will do everything we can to get you to your destination as safely and as quickly as possible.
