BART to run Sunday schedule on Christmas Day

BART trains will run on a Sunday/Holiday timetable on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25.  Service begins at approximately 8:00 a.m.

With the exception of a modified peak-commute service on the Pittsburg/Bay Point Line (as explained below), trains will run on a normal weekday schedule on Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24.

BART To Run Modified Schedule On Pittsburg/Bay Point Line
In anticipation of light ridership this week, BART modified its schedule and trimmed peak-commute Pittsburg/Bay Point trains that usually run in the early morning hours and in the mid-afternoon.  Instead of running trains five minutes apart on the Pittsburg/Bay Point (Yellow) line, trains will run every 10 to 15 minutes.  Check BART's real time arrivals throughout the day for trains in service, or on your mobile device at BART's mobile website.

BART will run this modified schedule through December 31, 2009; however, after 8:00 PM on Year's Eve, BART will provide extra service with trains operating till 3 AM.  Read more about the New Year's Eve service here.
