Race 'til dawn: overnight Richmond tower and shop work
Watch the video
While most the Bay Area sleeps during the overnight hours our trackways, yards, shops and towers are buzzing with employees preparing for the next commute and keeping our equipment in safe working order.
We recently offered a glimpse at the critical track work that takes place while we are shut down for the night. Now, we are pulling back the curtain with a rare look at the overnight work done inside the Richmond tower and shop to show what it takes to get our trains ready by dawn. This effort is a rhythmic orchestration of men and women, train cars, and the conductor that oversees it all from a tower. Take a look.
