Elevators out at Daly City Station 4/17-5/5 (Update)

4/28/2017: 2nd Update, The floors have been replaced successfully, however, both elevator doors are experiencing mechanical problems and so the elevators will need to be out of service for another week.

4/18/2017--Update: Due to unexpected issues discovered when removing the old flooring, this work will take an additional week to complete. We expect to finish 4/28.

On Monday, 4/17, we will remove from service two elevators--one at each end of the tunnel beneath John Daly Boulevard at Daly City Station. These elevators do not impact train access from station concourse to station platform. However, these elevators do impact access from the South parking lot to the station. Tunnel escalators and stairs will remain open to the public during construction.

Customers needing elevator service will have to cross John Daly Boulevard at approved road crossings. We highly recommend using adjacent stations instead such as Colma or Balboa Park during construction or arrange for a lift van to take you to a nearby station with a working elevator—if you are at the station and need assistance, please contact a Station Agent.

We will be upgrading the splashguards and flooring in these elevators to prevent liquid from flowing under the floor and to make cleaning the elevators easier.

To check if an elevator is in service before arriving at a station, please call 510-834-LIFT (510-834-5438) or 888-2-ELEVAT (888-235-3828), or sign up for elevator status alerts at www.bart.gov/elevators.

We apologize for the great inconvenience this will cause you and appreciate your patience while we perform this important maintenance work.
