VTA route changes at Fremont & Warm Springs 10/8

Beginning Monday, October 8, VTA will make the following changes to the bus routes that serve Fremont and Warm Springs Stations because of our extension of the Orange and Green lines to Warm Springs in September.

Express Lines 180 & 181
VTA Express Bus Lines 180 and 181 will terminate at Warm Springs BART instead of Fremont BART, (see map below for bus locations at Warm Springs). These two lines will no longer service stops on Montague Expressway, Mission Boulevard, Stevenson Boulevard, and Civic Center Drive.

  • Line 180: Buses will operate non-stop between the Great Mall Transit Center and Warm Springs BART via Hwy. 880. Service will operate only during peak hours: 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Midday and evening service will be discontinued due to low ridership. AC Transit Line 217 now operates between Great Mall and Warm Springs BART seven days a week.
  • Line 181: Weekday buses will operate non-stop between San Jose Civic Center and Warm Springs BART. 

NOTE: Express Bus Lines 120 and 140 will remain at Fremont BART.
