2022 Sunday single-tracking in San Francisco with 3-line service (next work date: 7/24)
BART crews continue their work replacing aging power cables in San Francisco causing single tracking and reduced service on select Sundays.
Single tracking will be between 24th St. Mission and Daly City, except where noted.
Upcoming single-track Sundays include*:
- July 24, 2022 (tentative)
- August 21, 2022 (Single tracking will be between Montgomery and 16th St. Mission)
- August 28, 2022 (tentative)
- September 11, 2022 (Single tracking will be between Montgomery and 16th St. Mission)
*Dates subject to change
On these Sunday single-tracking days:
- Expect up to 10-minute delays from 8 am to 7 pm.
- We will single track between the 24th Street Mission and Daly City stations.
- BART will run 3-line service on these Sundays with only 2 transbay lines, the Antioch-SFO + Millbrae (Yellow) line and the Blue line to and from Dublin/Pleasanton terminating at 24th Street. Passengers traveling further south will cross the platform board the Yellow Line for SFO + Millbrae.
- The Yellow and Blue line trains will run very close together to enable singling track through work zones. BART plans to improve this service pattern and run Yellow and Blue line trains more evenly spaced apart in the September 2022 schedule change.
The project has been accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic to reduce the timeline of the project and eliminate dozens of future Sunday single-tracking days. Many of the aging electrical components are nearly 50 years old and have outlived their design lives. Replacing this outdated infrastructure is essential to ensure BART trains have a reliable power source as they carry riders through the heart of the system.
