Balboa Park Station Plaza Construction starting 12/5
As part of improvements being made at Balboa Park Station, we will construct a plaza and new passenger loading zone on the south side of Geneva Ave, between the I-280 off-ramp and San Jose Ave. beginning Monday, December 5, 2022.
The first phase of this work is planned to be complete by the end of December and will reconstruct a portion of the sidewalk and the Muni bus stop. During this work, the bus stop will be relocated slightly to the east, at the crosswalk for the old passenger loading zone, which will be closed to vehicles.
Barricades and temporary signage will be installed to provide safe access for pedestrians along Geneva Ave and to the BART A1 Entrance. The BART entrance will remain open during this first phase. The map below shows the locations of barricades and the bus stop. The pedestrian pathway is shown as a dashed blue line.
