BART PD makes arrests in fatal shooting in plaza above 24th Street/Mission Station in San Francisco

The BART Police Department working in conjunction with the San Francisco Police Department has arrested two suspects wanted in connection with the December 18th fatal shooting in the street-level plaza above the 24th Street/Mission BART Station in San Francisco. A 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man both from San Francisco were taken into custody without incident. BART and local video surveillance cameras as well as patrol officers familiar with the suspects were instrumental in making today’s arrests possible. The shooting did not involve individuals who were riding BART.

The fatal shooting in the plaza above the 24th Street/Mission Station is the subject of an active investigation for BART Police. We are working together with San Francisco PD to locate two suspects. The shooting was reported at 4:07pm Sunday. The victim was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life threatening injuries. He was declared dead at 7:08pm. Motive for the shooting is unclear at this time. The review of surveillance video is part of the ongoing investigation.
