Longer trains for Carnaval, Sunday service on Memorial Day

BART will run longer trains to carry the large crowds going to and from SF Carnaval festivities, the Giants versus Arizona games and other Memorial Day events this weekend.

SF Carnaval Just Steps Away from BART
SF Carnaval is one of the biggest multicultural events in California. Organizers urge the thousands of SF Carnaval revelers to use BART and other public transit – especially on Sunday, when many streets in the San Francisco Mission District will be closed for the Grand Parade. BART's 24th St./Mission and 16th St./Mission stations are a short walk from the SF Carnaval music festival, which takes place on both Saturday, May 29 and Sunday, May 30. Once exiting either station, simply walk east down 24th or 16th Streets to the festival area on Harrison Street. Accessing the Grand Parade is even easier. As soon as you exit the stations you are on the parade route. The parade starts around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday on 24th Street at Bryant. Riders can plan their trip using the BART QuickPlanner. Bus Bridge Between Walnut Creek & Pleasant Hill All Weekend
Due to Memorial Day weekend construction, BART will not operate trains between Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill. Instead, a bus bridge will be in effect between these two stations. Passengers using the bus bridge should expect up to a 30 minute delay. Read more about the Bus Bridge.

If you are going to SF Carnaval or the Giants game and travelling from Contra Costa County, to avoid the bus bridge, start your trip at Walnut Creek, Lafayette or Orinda stations. If you're going to the KBLX Stone Soul Concert on Sunday, May 30th at the Sleep Train Pavilion at Concord, shuttles will be operating from both Walnut Creek and Concord stations to get you to the Pavilion.

Memorial Day Service
On Memorial Day itself, BART will operate on a Sunday schedule. Service will begin at 8 a.m. and run until approximately midnight. BART's Administration Office will be closed in observance of the federal holiday. BART wants to remind everyone that there will be plenty of free parking at its stations over the weekend and on Memorial Day as parking fees do not apply on weekends and on Memorial Day.
