Bike parking installation at West Oakland Station to begin Jan. 18

Starting January 18, 2016, BART will close off 20 Daily Parking spaces near the entrance to the West Oakland Station in order to lay a concrete pad in the area that is currently dirt and bushes. We will then install 21 new bike locker pods (each with space for up to 4 bicycles) for a total of 84 new bike locker spaces. Additionally, we will install and reconfigure new “wave” racks in front of the station entrance, creating an additional 56 bicycle parking spaces.

The work will take place next to the sidewalk directly south of the station immediately across the roadway from the entrance. The sidewalk will remain open and the crosswalks and curb cuts will still be accessible. The work will proceed as quickly as possible, but there may be delays for rain.
