Parking areas at West Oakland Station being reconfigured
In the next few weeks, the parking areas at West Oakland be reconfigured to allow for more first-come, first-serve Daily Fee parking. More of our riders are using BART only occasionally, so we are expanding first-come, first-served Daily Fee parking to better accommodate these new commuting patterns.
One of the Reserved Parking (formerly Permit) areas by Mandela Parkway will be converted to Daily Fee parking. The Reserved Parking area by 7th Street and Chester Street, closest to the station entrances, will remain as Reserved parking (see map). Overall parking space count will remain unchanged.
Data shows there is still ample parking for current reserved parking uses, and staff will monitor and adjust areas as needed. If you have any questions and concerns, please reach out to [email protected].
