Elevator Outage Options

In case of an elevator outage, use the following options or contact the station agent for assistance. Agents can arrange a ride to a different station in an accessible van if needed. 

STATION ELEVATOR 

• Can't enter station:   Take another mode of transportation such as an AC Transit bus to another station. The closest station is Fruitvale (2.1 miles).
• Can't exit station:  Continue on BART to exit at another station.  The closest station is Fruitvale (2.1 miles).

ELEVATOR TO OAKLAND AIRPORT CONNECTOR

• Can't access connector platform:  Take another mode of transportation such as an AC Transit bus to get to the Oakland airport.
• Can’t exit connect connector platform:  Go back to the Oakland Airport Station and take another mode of transportation such as an AC Transit bus to get back to the Oakland Coliseum Station.

WHEELCHAIR LIFT FROM STATION TO PARKING LOT

• Can't enter station:   Access the entrance on the other side of the station. From the parking area, turn right on Snell Street, left on 69th Street, and left on San Leandro Boulevard.
• Can't exit station:  Exit the station on the San Leandro Boulevard side and use surface streets to access the main parking area.  From the station entrance, turn right on San Leandro Boulevard, right on 69th Street, and right on Snell Street.

PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE ELEVATOR TO ARENA 

• Can't access arena:   Cross San Leandro Blvd and go South one block. Turn right on 73rd Street to access the ramp to the pedestrian bridge from the Amtrak parking lot and proceed to the arena. 
• Can't leave arena:  Take the ramp down from the pedestrian bridge to the Amtrak parking lot.  Walk or roll along 73rd St one block to get back to the Coliseum BART Station.

Entering Coliseum Station

The train platforms at Coliseum Station are located on a raised platform. Concourse is on the street level.

Only one elevator is needed to get from the street to the train platform.

A prototype fare gate now encloses the elevator at the concourse level to bring the elevator into the paid area. 

The elevator is located outside the paid area approximately 120 feet North where the paid area is located. Press “P” for train platform level.

At the train platform level, you will be at the far end of the platform.

Note: If heading to the Oakland International Airport (OAK), transfer from Coliseum BART Station and follow the signs to the elevator.

Exiting Coliseum Station

The train platforms at Coliseum Station are located on a raised platform.

Only one elevator is needed to get from the train platform to the street.

Exiting from Richmond, San Francisco bound trains, the elevator will be towards the front of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “S” for street level.

Exiting from Warm Springs/South Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton bound trains the elevator will be towards the rear of the train at the far end of the platform. Press “S” for the street level.

On the concourse level, travel approximately 120 feet South where the paid area is located.  

Note: From Oakland International Airport (OAK) BART station, it is a short walk to transfer to the Coliseum BART Station. Check the BART System Map for more information.
