Elevator Outage Options

In case of an elevator outage, use the following options or contact the station agent for assistance. Agents can arrange a ride to a different station in an accessible van if needed. 

PLATFORM 1 ELEVATOR (RICHMOND DIRECTION)

  • Can't enter station:   Take the Platform 2 elevator on the opposite platform and travel to El Cerrito Plaza, then board the desired train.
  • Can't exit station:  Continue on BART to Richmond then return to El Cerrito del Norte and exit using the elevator on the opposite platform (Platform 2).

PLATFORM 2 ELEVATOR (BERRYESSA, SFO/MILLBRAE/DALY CITY DIRECTION) 

  • Can't enter station:   Take the Platform 1 elevator to the opposite platform and travel to Richmond Station, then board the desired train.
  • Can't exit station:  Continue on BART to El Cerrito Plaza and then return to El Cerrito del Norte. Exit using Platform 1 elevator.

 

Entering El Cerrito del Norte Station

The train platform at El Cerrito del Norte Station are located on a raised platform. Concourse is on the street level.

There are two separate elevators for Richmond bound trains or Berryessa/North San José, San Francisco bound trains. Travel approximately 110 feet heading North from the paid area. Berryessa/North San José, San Francisco bound trains elevator to your left and Richmoond bound trains elevator to your right. Press "P" for train platform level.

At the train platform level, from either elevator, you will be approximately at the end of the platform. The elevator doors open away from the tracks.

Exiting El Cerrito del Norte Station

The train platforms trains at El Cerrito del Norte Station are on located on a raised platform.

There are two separate elevators for either Richmond bound trains or Berryessa/North San José, San Francisco bound trains. The elevators are located approximately at the far end of the train platform. Press “S” for street level.  

When exiting from either elevator, travel approximately 110 feet heading South towards the paid area.
