An exciting component of this BART Bicycle Plan is a new bicycle access model, developed to help BART and other commuter rail operators predict the effect of an assortment of bicycle-related investments on bicycle access rates, and to compare these investments to the cost of providing automobile parking. Although based primarily on BART data, the model and companion spreadsheet tool are designed to be used and adapted by a broader range of transit operators.
